Voice dictation with AI: speak and watch the structured report fill itself in
In Laudário dictation, the physician speaks and AI marks the fields of the structured report instead of dumping free text. You can dictate from a phone, and the final text still comes from the standardized phrases.
Traditional dictation turns speech into free text: the physician speaks, the system types, and then someone reviews it comma by comma. It works, but it throws away the main advantage of the structured report, which is having each finding in a field, with standardized phrases and calculated classifications.
In Laudário, dictation does the opposite: speech fills in the form.
How it works
- In the report editor, the physician opens the Dictation panel and speaks the findings the way they already speak in the exam room: "liver of normal dimensions, mild steatosis, gallbladder with an eight-millimeter stone."
- The audio is transcribed and the AI identifies which field each passage belongs to.
- The fields are marked on the form: mild-grade steatosis, cholelithiasis, stone measurement.
- The report text comes from the template's own phrase engine, identical to what would be produced if the physician had clicked.
Why filling fields beats writing text
- The report stays standardized. The phrase is the template's, not a literal transcription of the speech.
- Calculations keep working. Volume, classifications, and the conclusion depend on the fields, not on the text.
- Review is visual. Instead of rereading a paragraph, the physician checks marked options and measurements.
- Nothing is made up. The AI only marks what was said. What was not said stays at the template's normal default.
Dictating from a phone
Not every exam room has a good microphone on the computer. That is why you can use your phone as a microphone: the physician scans a QR code on the screen and speaks into the phone, which sends the audio to the report open on the computer.
- The phone does not show patient data, it only captures the voice.
- The QR code is valid for a few hours and the connection is encrypted.
- The audio is discarded at the end.
Tips to get more out of it
- Say the organ before the finding ("right kidney, simple cyst of two centimeters").
- Dictate measurements with the unit.
- Always state laterality when there are two sides.
- Check the marked fields before releasing: responsibility for the report remains with the physician.
How Laudário helps
In Laudário, dictation lives inside the report editor:
- Speech marks the fields of the structured report, with no loose text.
- Dictation through the computer microphone or through a phone, by QR code.
- Phrases, classifications, and the conclusion keep coming from the template.
