ICP-Brasil digital signature on reports without a token: the cloud certificate

A PDF report only has the same validity as a signed paper document when it carries an ICP-Brasil digital signature (Brazil's official public-key infrastructure). The problem has always been the process: a USB token that goes missing, a card reader that does not work on the exam room computer, a password typed for every document.
The cloud certificate
With a cloud certificate, the physician's key is stored with the certified provider, not on a physical token. The physician authorizes its use through the smartphone app. VIDaaS is one of these certificates, with the same legal validity as the traditional token.
How it works in Laudário
- At the start of the day, the physician activates signing: scans a QR code with the VIDaaS app and authorizes.
- A session opens that lasts for a chosen period, from two hours to seven days. The default is twelve hours, one workday.
- During the session, every report printed or generated as a PDF comes out already signed.
- If the session expires, the editor warns before printing, and the physician chooses between reactivating or printing without a signature.
What is not stored
- The system does not store the physician's PIN or certificate.
- Authorization is given on the physician's own smartphone.
- Once the session ends, nothing more is signed in the physician's name.

What you need
- A VIDaaS certificate in the physician's name, purchased from the certificate authority.
- The VIDaaS app on the smartphone.
- The physician's details (CRM medical license number, CPF taxpayer ID) filled in Laudário, which form the report's signature block.
